KARACHI:Peoples Party and MQM have finalized the matters related to the restoration of the local governments system in Sindh.
The MQM and the PPP have finalized the features of the local government system in Sindh that will be imposed through an ordinance in the province.
The local government ordinance will be promulgated for three months, which will later be passed in Sindh Assembly. The Local Government Ordinance will be implemented forthwith and will be comprised of the district governments.
According to sources the Commissionery System will remain in force in the province while political administrators will be appointed under the new system at district, Taluka and town level. After the new ordinance the municipal corporations will be transformed into district, town and taluka administrations.
Karachi will be comprised of a district and 18 towns. Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas, Sukkur and Larkana will be made the metropolitan cities. The Mayors and Deputy Mayors will be elected at district level.
