QUETTA: President of Pakistan Mamnoon Hussain visited the Quaid-e-Azam residency in Ziarat amid tight security and took part in the flag hoisting ceremony.
The president is on a 3-day visit to Baluchistan. On the second day (today) of his visit he visited the Quaid-e-Azam residency where Governer Baluchistan Mohammad Khan Achakzai, Commander Sothern Command Lieutenant General Nasir Janjua and other officials were also present. Tribal elders also attended the ceremony.
Addressing the gathering the president said that the Peshawar carnage had jolted the nation and joint effort was needed to fight the common enemy.
He also said that terrorism had harmed the country immensely and it was about time the nation fought against this menace to make this country peaceful.
He praised the efforts of the armed forces stating that the nation was proud of their determination and sacrifices.
He emphasized that the whole nation should stand behind the army in these difficult times and help them fight terrorism.
He further said that the terrorists tried to destroy the Quaid’s residency but the government has restored it to its original state.
He said that the economic corridor can bring a revolution in the region and Baluchistan had a central role in the economic corridor and soon the Gawadar Port will be operational and Gawadar airport would be built.
