Woman killed in unprovoked Indian firing: ISPR

uns locMIRPUR/MUZAFFARABAD -UNS : A house-wife was killed and three of her family members were injured in unprovoked firing by the Indian troops on Kairni Madhar village along the Line of Control (LoC) in Naiza Pir sector, Haveili district, on Friday, ISPR said.

According to the ISPR, Indian troops started un-provoked shelling on Naiza Pir sector in the wee hours of Friday and one of the shells hit a house killing the woman on the spot and critically injured her three family members.

“The 40-year old Munir Jaan, wife of Mohmammad Azam, embraced martyrdom whereas his husband Mohammad Azam and two daughters sustained serious injuries due to the unprovoked Indian firing at Kairni Madhar village in Naizapira sector,” Duty In-charge Officer of Police Station Haveili told APP.

The injured, he said, were immediately rushed to a hospital in adjoining village Taachan.

Indian troops started gunfire early in the morning without any provocation targeting the civilian populous areas across the LoC. The firing was continuing intermittently till last reports came in.

The population of the firing-hit villages close to the LoC in Naizapir sector in Haveili district of Rawalakot Poonch division remained confined to their houses the whole day. However, the morale of the local population was high as no report of their shifting from th area were received
