Enhancing parliamentary,economic ties among Pakistan,Iran,Uzbekistan demanded

uns na-20161ISLAMABAD -UNS – February 23rd, 2016: Ambassadors of Iran and Uzbekistan called on Speaker, National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq in Parliament House, Islamabad, today. Wide range of issues including enhancing parliamentary and economic ties between Pakistan and their respective countries came under discussion.
Talking to the Ambassador of Iran Mr. Mehdi Honardoost, the Speaker said that stronger Pak-Iran relation was inevitable for regional peace, security and prosperity. He highlighted that lifting of sanctions would pave a way for revival of economic and commercial relationship between Pakistan and Iran. He added that Iran and Pakistan were intertwined by stronge multi-dimensional relations. Appreciating Iran’s geo-political significance, he remarked that Iran’s role was central to unifying the Muslim world and underlined the need for pro-active parliamentary diplomacy to promote further cooperation amongst the Muslim countries.
He highly appreciated Iran’s role in recently held conference of Parliamentary Union of Islamic Countries (PUIC) in Baghdad. He highlighted that Iran’s cooperation in energy sector was crucial to easing Pakistan’s energy crisis and further urged for diversification and expansion of trade relations.
Iranian Ambassador Mr. Mehdi Honardoost thanked Pakistan’s national leadership for lifting sanctions on Iran. He highlighted that this step would unleash a new era of mutual cooperation in trade and commerce between Iran and Pakistan. He assured the Speaker National Assembly that Iran was committed to assist Pakistan in resolving its energy crisis and further added that Iran attached immense importance to its relations with Pakistan. He also appreciated Pakistan’s recent shuttle diplomacy between Tehran and Riyadh and added that Pakistan’s earnest endeavors for unification of the Islamic world deserved candid appreciation.
While talking to the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mr. Furkat Sidikov, the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan had long cherished cordial bilateral relations in promoting all round cooperation in different areas including trade, commerce and culture. Referring to historic, cultural and commercial ties, the Speaker remarked that Pakistan and Uzbekistan were natural partners in promoting regional prosperity and stability.
Uzbekistan Ambassador Mr. Furkat Sidikov endorsed views of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and added that Uzbekistan was committed to strengthen Parliamentary relations with Pakistan. He also urged the need for diversification of trade and commercial relations.
