Imran warns PM against social media crackdown

QUETTA -UNS : Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan warned that his party would take to the streets if the federal government launched a crackdown on his party’s’ social media activists.

Addressing a big gathering of supporters here on Friday, Khan said that the government was forcing the PTI to launch street agitation again. “I issue a stern warning if our people are touched, we will take to the streets and our party has good practice of doing so,” he said.

Prime Minister Sharif, he said, has tried to curtain the freedom of expression through FIA.

Commenting on the Kulbhushan Jadhav case, Imran Khan said that Pakistan shouldn’t have gone to the International Court of Justice. “Kulbhushan Jadhav has confessed to his role in stoking terrorism and supporting a political party in Karachi,” he said.

The PTI chief alleged that Prime Minister Sharif had maligned Pakistan’s army in the whole world.

He said that Nawaz Sharif should be asked as who was his business partner in India. “Nawaz Sharif, you should disclose your financial assets and foreign wealth,” he said.

Khan urged the people to present evidence in the JIT about Nawaz Sharif’s assets.

“In the past, there used to be East Indian company, but now we have Nawaz Sharif’s companies. In Sindh, Asif Ali Zardari has his companies while here, Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Mahmood Khan Achakzai are running their companies,” he said.

“We will change the fate of Balochistan if we are given the opportunity to form the government,” he said. He lamented that Balochistan wasn’t getting its due share from the federal government.

He noted that Mushtaq Raisani wasn’t alone in his massive corruption scam.
