ISLAMABAD -UNS : Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, on Saturday took a jibe at PTI Chairman Imran Khan after he reportedly failed to submit complete financial record of his foreign assets in London.
In his written reply to the apex court through his counsel Naeem Bukhari, Imran Khan maintained he was unable to produce all relevant documents required to validate his financial record.
Khan recalled that he had played county cricket for the Worcestershire County Cricket Club (from 1971) and Sussex County Cricket Club from 1977 to 1988.
The club, he maintained, does not keep records for more than twenty years, which is why the record of his employment and the money Khan made during his association with the team was missing from statements he submitted before the court.
It added that the flat in London was mortgaged in 1984 at an initial payment of 61,000 pounds. The flat’s mortgage was settled in 1989 (within 68 months) after Khan completed all payments due.
Reacting to Imran Khan’s response, Maryam tweeted: “Don’t attack others with a LIE when you can be destroyed with the TRUTH.”
