LAHORE -UNS – Pakistan has defeated the World-XI in the first match of the three-T20 series. Pakistan was put to bat by the World-XI captain Faf du Plesis after winning the toss. Pakistan scored 197 runs with some brilliant contributions by Babar Azam and Shoaib Malik. Ahmed Shahzad also chipped in and the World-XI were set a gigantic target of 198 runs off the 20 overs.
World-XI started off brilliantly with Hashim Amla and Tamim Iqbal sending the bowlers to all sides of the park. However, they both were removed by Rumman Raees in the same over. The skipper, along with Tim Paine, put up some resistance while Grant Elliott and Miller also had a partnership going for a while but all these efforts fell 20 runs short in the end as Pakistan restricted the visitors to 177 for 7, winning the game and leading the three-match series 1 – Nil.
