ISLAMABAD : Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that the FATA reforms will be implemented with true spirit.Talking to delegation of parliamentarians and FATA leaders on Monday evening he said FATA will merge with KPK and Peshawar High Court will be deal all cases of tribal areas.
According to inner sources the PM confirmed to delegation that FATA will become part of KPK very soon.He said that FATA reforms will implemented and the all the basic rights of FATA people will secured.
Special committee formed for FATA merger with KPK. The committee will submit report to PM.
The delegation were led by PLM-N leader Amer Maqam.MNA Shah Gee Gull Afradi, ANP Senator Shahe Sayed and other PTI,ANP,PPP ,JI leaders were attended the meeting.
Earlier,thousands people from tribal areas and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have staged sit-in at D-Chowk for FATA reforms implementation.
When the protesters led by different political parties’ leaders and FATA parliamentarians reached D-Chowk, the police clashed with them as they were trying to enter the Red Zone. However, after some time the leaders asked the workers to return to D-Chowk.
Representatives of multiple political parties clashed with the law enforcers on Monday as they moved towards the Red Zone to record their protest seeking merger of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in Federally Administered Tribal Areas.
The government also approved a set of steps to be taken for proposed merger of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a 10-year reform package to bring the tribal region on a par with other developing areas of the country.
Over Rs110 billion development package, proposed by a six-member Fata reforms committee, has been approved for the seven agencies of the tribal region. Jurisdiction of the Supreme Court and the Peshawar High Court will be extended to Fata, where a new blend of judicial and traditional jirga system will provide justice to people.
Introduction of local government (LG) system, education and jobs opportunities for youth and upgradation of Levis Force are part of the 24-point Fata reforms. However, LG polls will be held after 2018 general elections.
