MQM-P protests against census results in Karachi

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) is staging a large protest rally in Karachi today (Sunday) against results of the recent population census.

Amid a massive seating arrangement, the rally is being held at Liaqatabad Number 10.

Rejecting results of the census, MQM-P leader Farooq Sattar has demanded a fresh census to determine the actual population of Karachi, which he said was ‘deliberately shown less than the real population of the mega city’.

He says Karachi’s population in actual was around 30 million, whereas according to the census it was 10.6 million.

Farooq Sattar says the census was rigged to reduce employment opportunities for the people of Sindh.

The rally will be addressed by Farooq Sattar, Amir Khan and other MQM leaders.
