KASUR-UNS – Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday has directed Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sheikhupura to arrest the culprit behind brutal killing of seven-year-old girl Zainab after rape, in 24 hours.
Expressing resentment over RPO’s slow investigation, the minister ordered to submit challan of the case in the court and launch proper judicial proceedings against the suspect.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif reached the house of seven-year-old Zainab and assured the bereaved family of provision of justice in the case.
The spokesman for Punjab government, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan and top police officials also accompanied CM Shehbaz during the visit.
While briefing CM Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Zainab’s house, Newly-appointed District Police Officer (DPO) Kasur Zahid Khan Marwat said that two suspicious people have been detained whereas a case against 16 people has also been lodged.
He continued that investigation from three policemen man, who resorted to aerial firing at protesters that killed two people, is underway.
