MUMBAI-UNS– Imran Tahir faced verbal and racial abuse allegedly from Indian spectators during the fourth One-Day International (ODI) match between India and South Africa played at Johannesburg.
Upon the abuse, Tahir reported the incident to security personnel on duty who evicted the spectator from the Johannesburg stadium. The incident, that took place on February 12, was acknowledged by Cricket South Africa (CSA).
CSA said in its press release, “Cricket South Africa has noted and is aware of the circulation of video footage featuring Imran Tahir on social media and Whatsapp groups.”

“Imran Tahir was verbally and racially abused by an unknown man,” it added, assuring that the incident is under probe.
The South African board also clarified that Tahir made no physical contact with the offender or any of the children within the vicinity.
