ISLAMABAD: The accountability court has on Tuesday accepted for hearing two supplementary references of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
The court rejected objections over the supplementary references filed in connection with Al Azizia and Flagship interim references against Nawaz Sharif.
The accountability court will conduct hearing of the references on February 22, wherein Khawaja Haris will represent the ousted prime minister.
The court will also conduct hearing of Avenfield case against the Nawaz Sharif on the same day.
Statements of two foreign witnesses will be recorded in the hearing via video link.
To help the witnesses record their statements, head of the NAB’s prosecution team Sardar Muzaffar Abbasi has reached London.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) heard a petition against Nawaz Sharif seeking to bar the disqualified prime minister from making anti-judiciary speeches.
The court observed that a case of the same nature was pending in Lahore High Court (LHC) remarking to wait for the LHC’s decision.
The hearing was then adjourned until February 26.
