India threatens Pakistan with ‘surgical strike option’

BAMBAI-UNS- In a recent interview, Indian army chief General Bipin Rawat threatened Pakistan by stating that the Indian Army has several options on the table including that of the surgical strike.

“Pakistan thinks it is fighting a war that is paying them dividends but we have several options, including surgical strikes,” said the Indian army chief without going into details as to how that would take place.

General Bipin Rawat was referring to the Sunjuwan Military camp attack in which heavily armed persons attacked and killed six Indian Army officers and injured others.

Without proof, Indian Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman put the blame on Pakistan shortly after the incident occurred stating that Pakistan would pay for its ‘misadventure’.

During the interview, he also accused Pakistan of backing militants and said that India would announce a ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) the day Pakistan stops sending terrorists into their territory.

India claimed in 2016 that it had conducted a surgical strike inside Pakistani territory but so far, no proof of the supposed military action has been provided.

Pakistan has time and again denied Indian claims of conducting a surgical strike and refuted the country’s baseless allegations of backing militants.

One of India’s leading politicians, Arvind Kejriwal, questioned Modi’s claims of surgical strike and demanded evidence from the army to back its claims, which had left the Indian government red-faced.
