ISLAMABAD -UNS – Opposition parties have assailed the government for the undue hike in petrol prices, condemning it as oppression.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan took to Twitter to express anger at the latest changes in petrol prices. He said that the government is not bringing the rick into the tax net, rather putting all the burden on the poor masses. He vehemently rejected the price-hike as shameless and unjust.
Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto also criticized government for its anti-people policies. He said that the recent increase in petrol prices will unleash inflation upon the poor people of Pakistan. He demanded that the government revoke the order immediately and announce relaxation in tax. Also PPP senator Saleem Mandviwala announce protest in and outside the parliament against the skyrocketing petrol prices.
Awami National Party leader Shahi Syed also joined the rhetoric against the price-hike and termed it injustice.
