KARACHI -UNS – The blistering heat has continued to persist in Karachi as the temperature reached 44 degrees today (Thursday).
Sea winds have stopped blowing in the metropolis. Following the sweltering weather conditions, emergency has been imposed in government hospitals while staff holidays have been cancelled.
The authorities have placed water coolers at various spots to facilitate the public. Keeping in view the ongoing heat wave, Karachiites have asked the government to set up maximum heatstroke camps in the city.
Doctors have also advised the public to keep themselves safe from scorching sunlight and drink plenty of water. They have also suggested to wear light colour clothes and to prevent drinking contagious beverages from the vendors.
High temperatures were also recorded in inner areas of Sindh as Dadu reeled under 45 degrees, Mohenjo Daro 44 degrees while Sukkar, Khairpur and Ghotki is experiencing 43 degrees.
