Nawaz never said Mumbai attackers were from Pakistan: PM

ISLAMABAD -UNS – Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that former prime minister never said that the Mumbai attackers were from Pakistan.

“The impression that the terrorists were from Pakistan is absolutely wrong,” he said while addressing the Parliament on Tuesday.

“The issues of national security should not be used for political objectives.”

PM Abbasi said that the man, who made Pakistan an invincible country, is being termed as a traitor. He said that no one has the right to issue the certificate of patriotism.

The premier said that Nawaz Sharif is not the only one who has spoke on the 2008 Mumbai attacks. He said that former dictator Pervez Musharraf, former interior minister Rehman Malik, ex- DG ISI Ahmed Shuja Pasha and Chairman PTI Imran Khan have spoken on the matter.

He said that Indian media misinterpreted the statements in the interview for their benefits.

“Take a look at the newspapers and reports of Saturday,” he said. “There is no such mention of Pakistan anywhere on that day.”

PM Abbasi went on to say that it was unfortunate that we took the matter forward.

“Not only did we take this forward but it became the headline of every television channel and it is also became the agenda of the Parliament.”
