ISLAMABAD -UNS- Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday while addressing civil servants in Islamabad stressed that accountability is inevitable for progress.
He maintained that Pakistan is facing major challenges and held an assurance to civil servants that they will be protected from political interference and merit will be ensured in appointments.
The Prime Minister pointed out that political interference over the years degenerated the country’s bureaucracy which was considered as a pride of the country in the era of 60s.
He assured that past prestige of the civil service will be restored.
PM Khan urged civil servants to fully support the ambitious reforms agenda of the government as it is aimed at securing the future of the young generations.
The premier said thatreforms will also be introduced in the civil service whereas adviser Ishrat Hussain has been entrusted the responsibility towards that end.
