According to Khyber News correspondent, the North Waziristan would be open for all Pakistanis from January 1, 2019.
A statement issued by district administration stated that entry system for North Waziristan would be abolished from January 1, 2019 after four years. The Watan card entry system for North Waziristan tribesmen was introduced by the army after Zarb-e-Azab operation in the area.
According to the statement, now the people from other parts of the country would also be able to visit North Waziristan by showing only computerized National Identity cards at checkposts.
Last year the army had abolished the Watan card system for the local tribesmen, while non-locals had to apply for Watan card for entry into North Waziristan.
The local tribesmen have thanked the Pak army and local administration for abolishing the entry system, which would help facilitate the local people and boost economic activities in the area.
